🚨 RURAL CRIME AWARENESS – LONGNOR AREA 🚨

📍 We have been made aware of a drone being seen flying over farms and farmland in the Longnor area over the last few days.

👀 We are asking local farmers and landowners to remain vigilant. If you see a drone being flown over your farm or land and you believe its activity is suspicious, please report it and make us aware.

📱 If safe to do so, try to note:
🕐 The time and date
📍 The location
➡️ The direction the drone was travelling
🚁 Any details about the drone or operator

⚠️ Drones have previously been used by criminals to scout rural properties and identify valuable equipment, vehicles and other items before thefts take place.

🔐 DON’T MAKE IT EASY FOR THIEVES

Please take a few minutes to check your farm security:
🔒 Lock away valuable tools, machinery and equipment when not in use.
🚜 Keep keys for tractors, quad bikes and other vehicles secured and out of sight.
📹 Consider CCTV, alarms, security lighting or cameras covering vulnerable areas.
🔖 Mark valuable machinery and equipment with your postcode or another identifiable security marking.
📸 Keep an up-to-date record of serial numbers, photographs and identifying features.
⛽ Secure fuel tanks, trailers, generators and other easily targeted items.
👁️ Where possible, store valuable equipment away from public view.
🏚️ Check gates, sheds and outbuildings are locked and in good condition.
🚗 Be mindful of unfamiliar vehicles or people taking an unusual interest in farms and rural properties.

🚔 PATROLS
As a result of the reports, patrols will be conducted in the Longnor area, with officers keeping an increased presence around local farms and rural areas.

Rural communities are stronger when we share information and report anything that doesn’t look right.

⚠️ If you see something suspicious, do not put yourself at risk or approach anyone.

🚜🔒 Stay vigilant. Stay secure.  👀🤝
